Not as good as Mike Duncan’s History of Rome podcast, but I will take what I can get. This book had too much of the author’s own opinions for me to enjoy it fully. Lot’s of Christian-fueled condemnation of the Romans and their ways. Biases like that are pretty annoying in a historical telling of a person or events. Still, I enjoyed it.

This is a decent, short history of Caesar. I have been reading quite a few history books recently, and this is definitely less rigorous than those written more recently. The 'storytelling' style of the prose, as well as what one assumes is the blurring of fact and legend makes this readable. Also it is decent value for money at a price of £0.00.
