"We wanted to touch the stars, and look what we did."
Atmosphere may not have been my favourite by TJR, but it still carried the emotional pull that make her stories so good. That's not to say I didn't enjoy it, it just didn't meet the high expectations she had set with past novels. I went in excited for space and astronauts and wasn't expecting such a romantic plot, but I was ultimately thankful for it as the rest felt quite bland. The characters didn't have that dimensional TJR sparkle for me. The sisterly drama was actually the standout and I’d happily read an entire book about Francis one day. The story truly flourished in the closing chapters, and as per usual, I was emotionally destroyed. So it was a stellar read and if you're a fan of Reid or romance, you will likely find plenty to love here!

I loved this tale of a woman working so hard for such an incredible field, and for her loved ones. Joan Goodwin was a wonderful character and the relationships she had with her fellow astronauts and her family, particularly her niece, Frances, were beautiful.
