Freeiiddaaaaa!!! It was the ending for me! Like huh? You mean to tell me all this time?! She really had me thinking it was one thing, for it to turn out to be another. I love how Freida does multiple POVs and short chapters. I like knowing the different perspectives especially when it’s so much going on.

This story starts off with a  "well who's doing that?" scenario. It jumps in on two different perspectives,  Eve (a math teacher) and Addie (a student). Eve and her husband, Mr. Bennett, have a strained relationship. They act well on the outside but they both seem to harbor some resentment towards each other. Addie has been in trouble for stalking a teacher because of some of her own personal issues, which resulted in a false scandal, leading for her to be ostracized and left alone and bullied a bit and the teacher getting wrongfully fired. After these storylines get set up, you get to see personalities a bit and kind of go on a whirlwind of disliking one to the other, etc. I couldn't quite figure out which direction it'd fully go. It kept my attention and I loved the short and sweet chapters! I'm not usually a thriller reader and this was an okay one to change up with. However, I do have one major issue with the plot that made this a 3 star.
SPOILERS next!
In the story, Addie needs a tutor for math and Eve suggests a list of students which includes Addie's friend Hudson. At the end of the book, it's revealed that "Jay" from the shoe store IS Hudson (his last name is a mouthful and they nickname him J for short). Eve has an affair with this character and believes he's married with a baby the entire book.  Yet she suggested him as a tutor and he was good at math, which leads me to believe she knows who he is as a student because shes had him or currently has him in class and would recognize him. So, that storyline really made the story run off the rails and feel wrong/unbelievable.

I think this is one of Frieda’s best! The epilogue twist hit me out of no where 😵🥊
