Everything I wanted it to be. The little mentions and nods to what we already know throughout. I’m so glad to know Haymitch’s story. I didn’t think I’d connect as much with more characters in the series, but Maysilee was a force, and she’s going to stay with me for a while. My favourite in the Hunger Games series so far! I don’t know if it’s because I’d already seen the movies before reading the other books, and there’s no film for this one (yet), but that made it feel extra special — everything was brand new. Finally getting to know more about “Itchy Itch Haymitchy” was brilliant and added so much depth to a character I already loved.
This book was all-fire 🔥 and I couldn’t put it down.
