Halo took me FOREVER to read, partially cause I was reading with my mom and partially because the 1st half of the book is so slow and the plot only barely kicks up in the last 150 pages or so. The main character, Bethany, is honestly so dumb, she's a fucking idiot pretty much the entire novel. And what's worse is that she never learns from her own stupidity. Everyone around her just keep fixing her problems and she never grows, its aggravating. The two stars is mostly for; 1, Gabriel and Ivy being what I'd expect from angels coming to earth, and 2, Xavier being absolutely hilarious! He's a fucking riot and it totally makes up for how gross him and Bethany are in their weird codependent lovey dovey shit. And just a heads up this book ends with a "love was the solution all along" type of ending, just in case you hate that shit as much as I do
