Ik vond het een bevalling. Ik ging van ebook naar het echte boek naar audioboek, en heb zeker allerlei details gemist, maar anders kwam ik er niet doorheen. Uiteindelijk ben ik wel blij dat ik doorgezet heb, en op de langdradigheid, vooral de in gevangenis, na vond ik het een goed boek.

I'm bummed that I can't re-read it for the first time again. Absolutely loved this. Looking for direction on what to read next thats like this...and I'm afraid it will never compare.
If this book didn't have Stephen King's name on the cover I never would have believed he wrote it. Because it's absolutely nothing like he's ever written before, and I absolutely loved it.

Anyway, I loved the characters and the world building. I liked all of the similarities to known fairy tales. Honestly, I just loved the whole thing. Highly recommend!

It didn't seem like it at first and I sort of panicked but if you're like me and can't read books about animals dying, I had to check to make sure.Anyway, I loved the characters and the world building. Al principio, me atrapó mucho la historia y avanzaba rápidamente, pero en cierto punto (SPOILER: Maleen Profunda) se me hizo un poco denso. De todos modos, me gustó la trama y el final.
This may be one of my favorite reads. I love King and although a lot of fans give him a hard time from deviating from horror, I absolutely loved the King twists added to fantasy (my favorite genre). This was wonderfully written. I was hesitant to read this because I felt like I saw a lot of pushback on it, particularly people saying they felt it was too short or had a lot of holes in it. I think it was intended to be that way though. You have to keep in mind it’s a first person retelling about a serious of wondrous yet traumatic events, of course there may be lapses or holes in one’s memory. Easy 5/5 stars! The audiobook by Seth Numrich, supported by King, is phenomenally narrated. This is easily in my top 2 audiobooks, one being the Exorcist read by Blatty himself, and left me in tears multiple times throughout!
