This book was totally confusing for me until I realized that there were 3 main women. Sophie and Estelle's stories happen during WWll in Paris. They don't come together until later in the story but when they do, WOW!
Aurelia/Lia is Estelle's granddaughter who inherits the Paris apartment when Estelle passes away. No one knew that Estelle had even lived in Paris, she'd hidden that part of her life. When Lia walks into the apartment she is instantly confused and on a mission to figure out what happened during the war and which side her grandmother was on.
This book is a wonderful story and worth every minute.
