Wow I LOVED this book. It had a bit of a slow start, but once it started to pick up, I couldn’t put it down. I became so connected to the characters - Sophie and Estelle were the bravest, cleverest, and most selfless female MCs I’ve ever read in a historical fiction book. Their bond was so strong, and the trust ran so deep despite not knowing each other for long. I idolize both of them, and I think this book is so important in showing women’s incredible contributions during WWII. The ending broke me, and I’ll be thinking about this book for months (maybe even years) to come.

At first this book the Paris apartment by Kelly Bowen is very very confusing because there are four different main characters two of them are from 2017 and the other two are from 1942. The main characters are Lia, Sophie, Estelle and Gabriel. Lia
Gabriel are from 2017, Lia inherits a apartment in Paris from her grandmother that has hidden secrets. Some of these hidden secrets are paintings. The secrets behind these paintings leads her to Gabriel Seymour. Gabriel is a painting appraiser, and his grandfather William Seymour is a painter/artist. William Seymour knows both Estelle Allard and Sophie Seymour/BeauMonte. Estelle was a doctor during World War II no not a doctor I’m sorry. Estelle was a nurse who helped a lot of women in men during the war she also helped a lot of people escape from the Nazi occupied Paris. And Sophie and a cell we’re pretty much Frenemies this whole entire story.
I liked the story but I raided it a four out of five because it was kind of slow in the middle. It was fast at the beginning. It was kind of slow in the middle as I mentioned earlier and then at the very end it was fast again but all the pieces came together of how everyone was connected. I love Kelly Bowen‘s writing and will definitely be picking up more books by her.

Just shy of a 5-star read for me. I'm holding back half a star or so because I felt less engaged with/invested in the present day story line and characters. Really enjoyed this book though!!

I enjoyed this book quite a bit. I did however get confused towards the end when the dual timelines are supposed to be finally tying together. I also felt as though the story ended a bit abruptly, and it would have been nice to have an epilogue.
