A slow thriller with a unique premise and determined main character. I appreciated how the author drew attention to the issue of human trafficked maids in Dubai. However, I didn't feel that the plot was always realistic. And Shula's character also felt unrealistic - I'm not so far removed, generationally, from the sort of South Asian village woman that she is and I did not think she seemed much like someone from there.
