Our next trip into the Clover Hill universe is via @mxcyrus and their lovely small town, rock star, second chance romance Every Single Note. Kitt and Roslyn’s story is such a swoony one, As Kitt, the biggest non-binary pop star out here, returns to their hometown after a crushing legal defeat and runs back into their former friend/songwriting parter turned town mechanic/grump Roslyn, offering a life changing amount of money to help them write new music. As the two of them work together on Kitt’s music, old feeling and regrets begin to bubble back up, leading both to wonder if there is chance to start things over between them.

Adams really wrote a beautiful story. The way their navigated the emotions that spring up when a former crush comes back into your life was devastating and hopeful. Roslyn’s struggles with being a caretaker for her brother while creating a life that she wasn’t expecting is delicately handled, while Kitt’s struggles with betrayal from the industry they love while trying to find a way to apologize to Roslyn for letting the friendship grow cold is also handled wonderfully. Evan, Roslyn’s brother is a great side character, and we do see our lovely couple from Heartbreak Handshake make a quick cameo! This story is short, but steamy and sweet. Just another wonderful entry into Clover Hill.

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily posting a review. All opinions are my own.
Every Single Note is the tenth (!) installment in the Clover Hill Romance series. As always, it works as a stand-alone, but I do recommend checking out all the books in the series. Just as with every author who has contributed thus far, Cyrus Adams contributes a fresh perspective on what it means to be queer within a shared queer-positive space/community.
Roslyn’s story really resonates, even as someone who isn’t a musician, as she found herself giving up on her music dreams for the sake of her brother and a more practical life in Clover Hill. While she doesn’t see herself as a big star anymore, I love the way she rediscovers her passion for music through Kitt. And Kitt in turn experienced fame and the backstabbing that can come with it due to going through it without Roslyn, and I loved how they were willing to do anything to bring Roslyn back into their life again. And despite the span of years they’ve been apart, their shared passion for music  is what helps them come back together.
This is another wonderfully heartwarming installment in the series, from an author I can’t wait to read more from. If you’re looking for queer small-town or rock star/celebrity romance, I’d recommend this one!
