This book just sucked me right into it's world! I mean I just loved the family setting and the characters. Though the chemistry built up was quite sudden and felt a bit forced. The only thing I am disappointed is the way the plot turned out in the end! The built up was very intriguing but the plot turned disappointing.... It was a 3 star read but the the story setting and the characters made me love it so much that I made it a 4 star.
Spoiler
I would not consider speaking with either of the parents after what they did to her ! Forget forgivinglynnreads2's review against another edition

If you love small town romances with a lot of heart, this book is for you. Poplar Falls was a small town with a strong sense of community, family, and hard work. After the death of her grandmother, Sophie returns to her hometown twenty years later.⠀
⠀
The characters in this book felt like family. They took care of each other and took Sophie in like no time had passed. I loved following her journey of finally feeling like Poplar Falls was home again.⠀
⠀
Now let's talk about the romance. I loved Braxton and Sophie! Started off as enemies but then turned into something more. At first Braxton was rough around the edges. But eventually we saw his sweet and protective side when it came to Sophie. Some of my favorite scenes were watching the jealousy that overtook him when Sophie was with another guy. The epilogue was so perfect. ⠀

Cute but thin plot
It was cute and light but nothing special. Felt like a book a college kid would write —> immature writing, immature characters. But still sweet

After reading other reviews I had high hopes for this book and it just didn’t land for me. The main characters were annoying individually and as a couple. Their relationship developed over the course of 1 month from hating each other to moving in and proposing, in a different book this might have worked but with these characters it felt awkward, rushed and insincere. Sophie was super immature for being 32 years old and running her own business. I think Braxton was supposed to be the broody boy who only loves his family and the gf but instead he just came off as rude. I really wanted to like this and have a new series to love but it just wasn’t for me.
