Small town romances never disappoints and I love the heroine returns to small town trope. I really enjoyed this one and am so happy I finally have gotten around to starting this series.
If you like The Simple Wild then I think you'll like this book! It has a lot of elements that I loved in that such as the heroine returning to the small town she grew up in, she is estranged from her Dad, the love interests is grumpy and has opinions about her before he meets her. I loved seeing the heroine connecting with her family, falling in love, and finding out some family secrets.
However, the romance wasn't my favorite part of this story as think the the relationship needed more time to develop. I would've liked to see the main characters spending more time together and getting to know one another.
I plan on reading the other books in the series and hope I enjoy the romantic elements more. I really enjoyed Amber Kelly's writing and the charming town of Poplar Falls!

I loved this book. I didn’t know if I was going to love it at the beginning but guys...... I was sobbing at the end! It was so so good! So my rating is 4.5 star but it’s very close to a 5 and it may end up being changed.
This was compared to “the simple wild” and though I can see where they get that. And in the beginning I would agree but it became its own story and was able to stand on its own two legs and I loved it. The hero and heroine were so cute together!!! They were adorable and I wish there was more about them!
One of the best parts for me was the family aspect though. If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times I LOVE books where there is a huge family and they love each other and are in each other’s business and everything. I also love a book that can get me in my feels and my emotion of some family heartbreak and fixing said heartbreak and man did this book have that! Loved it!

I ALMOST gave up on this. The first chapter had me but then we dawdled a bit too long in Sophie's NY life. But once we got to Colorado? LOVE LOVE LOVE

I totally adored this book. I’m a sucker for small town romances and this was beautiful. It was a four-week love story (quite literally) but it felt like months. I swear this small town people know how to be proactive like no one else. I liked the peek we got from Sophie’s life in the city at the beginning and how she progressed to falling into the same old things she used to do as a kid. The way she handled the “talk” was super mature and I’m glad the author didn’t turn her into a teenager. I loved her and Braxton, the slow (not so slow) romance they developed was super sweet and just cute. I have to say, I wasn’t feeling the “love of my life” or “she’s the one” vibe. I don’t think we got there. Before the epilogue I was feeling more of a “we like each other a lot, let’s try this out for real” vibe. But hey, it was still a pretty cute love story. Every character had depth and I felt embraced by them all. The one thing I’m still confused about is Elle. She’s supposed to be like 23 but the whole book she acted like a 16-17 year old girl and I just couldn’t see her as a grown up. I liked her but I was confused. But yeah, I’m actually super happy I get to be at Poplar Falls for a few more days, I really like it here.

Honestly, I really tried with this... but there were so many red flags...
She was 12 when her mum left. If the dad wanted to have a relationship... it was up to him ( and she left him a note ). She gets emotionally blackmailed & bamboozled when she returns for her grandmother's funeral. She is treated with disdain by several of the people there. And then reprimanded when she doesn't toe the party line. Then... the person who I assume is going to end up being her HEA, has sex with someone who isn't her. Now, yes... they are not together... yes, people have sex... but it is just so fraking distasteful to read about it. I didn't like him anyway. Now, I really detest him. I will persevere for a little longer...
What also pissed me off is how she turns into a complete simpering idiot who lacks any confidence. How the hell did she get to be 32... she just is irritating as a woman with her own business, her own home and her own life who immediately becomes stupid for the convenience of the story. And if she wanted a frigging hombre, she should've got one.
Well, I finished it. Not sure why... guess I didn't want to be negative without having read the whole thing. I didn't like it. Not one bit. The whole reason why her dad didn't bother with her was pathetic... more than pathetic. Ridiculous. And there was no explanation about why he married the other woman. Seemed to happen pretty fraking quickly. He was in his early 30's when she ( cannot remember name, despite having literally just finished it... ) was taken to New York. He so could've taken a stand. He had his whole family there... they obviously got a divorce... was she not part of the discussions during that? I think so... she was a minor... so, he just gave her up. Wow... just wow.
I have absolutely nothing to say about the bloke who was really unlikable who lived in the barn. I really wish she had gone back to her life in New York.

I completely devoured this book! From the moment I picked it up, I was completely hooked. This book had me absolutely swooning and laughing out loud. I loved the small town setting. Amber Kelly clearly has a knack for writing settings that feel so warm and inviting. This one was just captivating and wholly unique in feel. I loved every minute of the small town atmosphere created. It was charming, entertaining and just so pleasant.
I so enjoyed this story. Braxton and Sophie were everything, and I was completely smitten. I loved the dynamic between them and the tension that transpired between them. And not only were the main characters fantastic, but so were the side characters. There were so many side characters, I loved them all. This book also did an amazing job at getting me excited for the upcoming books in this series. I'm completely obsessed with this friendship group and want all their books right now!
Overall this book completely captured me and pulled me into this adorable, small town. I loved the main characters, and their romance. This book was steamy, romantic, and full everything I love in romance. I can't wait to get my hands on the next book!
