3⭐️⭐️⭐️& 0.5🌶️. I don’t have many feelings for this book. I listened to the audiobook, and the narration was ok. I just think I’m not too much of a fan of small town and mostly not spicy romances anymore. I’ve been spoilt by some of my other reads. I think the story was too simple for me. It was the typical pretty city girl returns home and falls for the local kind of story. I just found it overall non eventful with no real plot twist or anything to keep me engaged. But if you like the usual romances this would be a nice story.

This is the first book that I've read by Amber Kelly, and I must say that I enjoyed it greatly. I liked Sophie from the start, and while Braxton was kinda a jerk at first, I think that's what was expected. He certainly grew on me as the story went on, and I loved him and Sophie together.

I can't wait to read more from Amber Kelly, and look forward to more in the Poplar Falls series!

Meh

I liked the story line and the setting. I’m a sucker for a good small town romance, but I just felt like there wasn’t a ton of chemistry between the two of them. It was very anticlimactic.

I’ve been wanting to read this series for quite some time—these covers are gorgeous and drew me right in!

I’m also a sucker for a small-town romance and this one had a Sweet Home Alabama feel to it right from the start.

The characterization was well done and I could picture the ranch vividly—so much so that I found myself wanting to pack a bag and head out for a visit!

Because this is book 1, there were a lot of characters introduced off the bat, which took me a minute to wrap my head around, but I adored Sophie and Braxton’s story and look forward to reading the next in series!

I won't lie I picked this book up originally because I love this cover. I'm usually an illustrated cover girl, but I think this cover is stunning. Rustic Hearts had the small town vibe that I have been loving lately and is full of family, friends and drama; honestly I could see it being a television show. I enjoyed seeing Sophie connect with family, and I really did like the premise of this story. For the most part I did enjoy the side characters. There were some swoony moments, as well as some sweet and steamy. I did enjoy the relationship between Sophie and Braxton enough, but it's not anything groundbreaking. For me I would say it was a tad instalovey once we got past the "hate" part and neither instalove or enemies to lovers are my jam. While I did enjoy a lot about this book there was a bunch I didn't like (mostly the fact that both of Sophie's parents were awful, also I hate the fact that I was able to listen to this one but none of the rest have audiobooks available). I love that this book is the starter of a series. And eventually I will get around to reading more.

4.5⭐️

This book was the perfect small town romance! It was sweet, fluffy and full of lovable characters. It follows Sophia Lancaster, a former country girl turned city girl, who returns back home to Poplar Falls and reunites with her family. She then meets Braxton Young, a hot and brooding man who works on the family farm.

I loved the grumpy sunshine elements in this book and how perfect Braxton and Sophia are for eachother. This book was also an enemies to lovers which i really enjoyed! Overall, this book was super sweet and gave me serious autumn vibes which I absolutely loved. I need to read the rest of the series!!
