I loved this one. I didn’t guess the right murderer but the reveal at the end made sense to me and especially Caroline‘s actions were moving and convincing to me. I loved the different personalities and characterizations of the women and hated all the men. Very enjoyable and an Agatha I would recommend!

实话实说,菠萝假设的那几个情况我都有想到过,但是这个结局却是我没想到的
This is definitely one of my favorite Christie books. I started out reading this book with high hopes, as I enjoyed the movie version starring David Suchet, and I was not disappointed. I'm drawn to Christie's propensity for focusing on the psychology, rather than the logistics, of crime. The five different perspectives given about a crime sixteen years old are brilliantly written in distinct voices, and I found the ending both clever and poignant. I don't know why the mystery genre is looked down upon; I find Christie's characters complex and well-written.

One of my new fave Christie’s. As per usual i did not guess who dunnit and i actually appreciated it just ended knowing the k!ller would probably not get done in.
At first, it seemed predictable, but the ending deceived me, and I realized I only guessed half of the truth.

The book was pretty good tbh. It's one of the more interesting ones from Poirot because of its peculiar structure (which i actually enjoyed quite a bit). The psychological aspect of the case was so interesting; reconstructing all of their behaviours, reading through the lines and all of that. Definitely would recommend.
Not bad, but it didn’t totally land with me. If I were someone who really wanted to work out the mystery, I probably would have enjoyed comparing the suspects’ accounts and matching wits with Poirot. But I’m not that person, so I really just wanted to get on with things. I confess to skimming a bit near the end rather than reading a tenth account (two from each of five suspects) of the murder.
