Nina was the highlight of this book funny, admirable, and unapologetically herself. Unfortunately, almost everything else fell flat for me.

The side characters, especially her parents, felt bland and unlikable. Worst of all, the ending undermined everything that made Nina compelling. Her strength, humor, and refusal to compromise her beliefs were brushed aside, which also stripped away the charm of her relationship, the witty banter and dynamic that made them engaging in the first place. What could have been a satisfying conclusion instead left me disappointed and ultimately ruined the story.

Mafia romance at its best. Super easy read. Not too deep, not too complicated, it hits the spot when you're exhausted by RL and need a fluff romance with a morally gray man to worship you.

3.5 for Roman
Again with Neva writing the perfect mmc but very average FMC

we were told from the start that Nina was this badass edgy women that makes unconvetional art and lives a very liberated life and doesn't give a shit, but what we were given is the total opposit.

being tiny and not finding clothes that fit is her only personality trait as if she's the only petit woman to exist in the world, she's always wearing heels despite saying how much she hates them, she's always shopping despite never finding clothes to wear ,she's always shocked at how much money roman spends despite living in a literal mansion and knowing he's a damn millionaire.

then the 3rd act break was the most ridiculous thing ever and 100% unncessary, so she was married and in a relationship with the head of THE RUSSIAN MAFIA THE FUCKING PAKHAN yet she was someone hurt and couldn't live with the fact that he killed the man that SAed her ??? is she stupid ? the all of a sudden she suddenly became okay with it because roman is doing better and she's happy for him i rolled my eyes at her more times than i can count.
Roman on the other hand was perfect in every way. my heart broke everytime he strugged with his disability and adapting to his new life and the pain that's going to be with him forever
i loved how he and Nina had a talk about the two things they struggle with in life aka his disability and her trauma and fear of large men and being their for each other.
AND I LOVED THAT HE TOLD HER HE'D END THE WAR IF SHE REMARRIED HIM I LOVE THIS MAN SO MUCH
also everytime sergei was mentioned i was like yup that's my man right there
safety:
- safe
-no cheating
-no owd/omd just slight jealousy
- 3rd act break up for 3 months no mention of other people
