I LOVED this book! This was such a beautiful story! This is my first Neva Altaj book but I can't wait to jump into the rest of her books!! But seriously, this book was filled with such great tropes, humor, and other amazing things! The setting definitely fits the story. Galas, mansions, and gritty warehouses; it really added to the experience of the story. The plot line was amazing too!
Following a formula for arranged marriage mafia stories is absolutely ok, and this one did! But the thing that I loved most about it was how flushed out the characters were. They were unique and interesting to watch throughout the book. I loved the immediate hatred between characters, but curiosity that bloomed as well. I was surprised by the FMC to be honest! There was tension, both smexual and emotional, but tension nonetheless!! I think Roman said it multiple times “the tension in the room was thick enough to cut with a knife.” And boy was he right. I also loved how the FMC was able to create and be in her element. I feel like you don’t see that a lot with mafia books!
The spice was great! I’m changing my spice ratings now that I can’t really keep track of scenes with audio books. So I’m using the spice scale via Romance.io! They rated it 4/5 with At least two intimate scenes, explicit language with a variety of sexual acts. And I fully agree with this 😅 the spice was GREAAAAAAAT! The whole “my wife..”? GOT ME ON MY DAMN KNEES. 🧎🏻♀️ Roman, me next please.

I’m glad it was a short book but there really wasn’t any plot or background story/character background. Instalove and a psychotic overprotected MMC.
