This book had some nice historical details, and Cleopatra VII did have an interesting enough childhood to make this book justifiable, but having her come to Rome with her father was a very forced and unbelievable plot device. And, while I appreciated the author's attempts to portray the complexity of the Ptolemaic family dynamics, she simply did not think such things out enough. Fun, but not particularly substantial.
