The will-they-won’t they/3rd act conflict/HOA felt rushed to me in a novella format, but the MCs are cute (if a bit angsty) and I found myself rooting for them to sort out their new adult selves together.

Anita! I love you!

When one of my many libraries finally got the rest of these novellas I was so excited! I love Anita Kelly's writing so much. So much of it is focused on queer joy and finding love in the midst of finding yourself and I just love it so so much.

This one was so fun and sweet! The story was short but yet the characters felt full, like they had had lives before this and would go on to have lives after.

I so appreciated the way burnout was addressed here in Aiden and grief in Kai; their emotions felt so real and important in their own ways.

I love this universe and I want to go to Moonies so bad lol

Because even when somebody left you, your memories were still your own to keep. You got to choose what to do with them.

AM SO ANGRY AND UPSET I WAS READY TO SHELF THIS AS A FAVORITE like 30% in😭
I loved these characters and I love Moonie's and the vibes in these novellas are always IMMACULATE, and these character were so complex and incredibly well written despite how short this was.
but I grew even more frustrated with aiden by the second, I'm not a fan of the "being cruel to push people you care about away" trope and man did aiden excel at doing it. over and over again. Kai is so forgiving and kind and did not deserve half the shit that was said to him 😭 I'm giving it 4.25⭐ instead of 5 for that alone
