Can I interest you in an amazing book? I read Darius the Great is Not Okay by @adibkhorram in a day and a half. I did that while working late both days. I was hit so hard with how much I loved this. I didn’t expect to. I never do. In my head, I only like books with fantastical elements. I bought this because Adib is a local author and I wanted to support him.

I loved everything about this book - the setting, the nerdy references, and all the representations of love ❤️
It's cool Darius, I am not okay either. Again, one of the best books I've read in recent memory. A slow burn. The characters slowly diffuse into you from the pages. You naturally start to care for everyone. A beautiful, satisfying ending, if not very painful. Depression is tackled exceptionally. Recommended to everyone.

I’m not sure I was the target audience for this book. It was not my favourite writing style (so many “he squinted at me” and “uh”s, it drove me nuts) and I wanted way more depth in the characters and story.
Probably a solid read for Younger Hayley but Old Lady Hayley needed more.
