I rolled my eyes a bit at this initially since Toes is almost preternaturally smart, but I have to admit that it got me right in the feels toward the end. Sheesh. Way to sneak up on me like that.

Touching story of cat with seven toes, rejected by siblings, gets lost, stuck in basement, found by owner, helps him.
But too much mortality in story for me.
