as is often the case in romance books these days, if the main characters ACTUALLY trusted each other and communicated the book would be like 40% shorter. but sometimes the miscommunication is entertaining.

This book blew me out of the water compared to book one. Seriously I was not expecting this to be so good. The romance was amazing and my heart is still recovering/suffering - plus that ending

I devoured that book. And that ending!!!!! Honestly you don't know who to trust by the end.
She remembers, they love fiercely. Red mist, witch hunting, fighting vampire factions, betrayal. All the things!

Overall I was underwhelmed and left somewhat disappointed by this sequel. After book 1 I had high hopes for watching Adrian & Isoldeās story unfold. This book seemed drawn out in some parts then rushed at the end. We did gain more backstory on all the characters and what happened in previous lifetimes to make them who and what they are today. The war with monsters and magic and among the nations continue as does the personal war between Adrian & Isolde as they fight for their love and the kingdoms. Though disappointed with the ending I will likely read book 3 when it comes out next year to see how this story ends.

It was an unsatisfying read, nothing was concluded and so many battles are being fought on so many fronts. I am curious to where this story goes, I am curious to if the series will be completed. Isolde is one of my favorite characters but her strengths from book one were minimized into grief, anger and fear in book 2. Overall I'm disappointed.
