Scarlett St. Clair almost lost me on this one. I was iffy when it came to my review with "They King of Battle and Blood" because the smut almost shadowed the story. But in this one, I found myself just sprinting to the end so I could get to my next book.
Once again, I don't think St. Clair fleshed out the story that well. I mean the whole two books basically happens in weeks. The smut was kind of all over the place and didn't really add anything to the story for me. This also just left me with more questions, which I assume will be answered in the third book. I'll be reading it just to see if we can get this story wrapped up. I believe there's a decent story here, it just needs more body to it.
Also, I'm so confused about how vampires feed from each other if they need mortal blood. How does that even work if neither of them feed from a mortal? Random I know, but seriously.
Again, I'll read the third, but this whole series is probably not going on my "MUST TELL MY FRIENDS ABOUT THIS" list.

This is the first book I’ve DNFed in my life. I was miserable. This hurt my brain. I need to be compensated. ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
First book was definitely better! Felt like most explicit scenes were forced or random and no need felt like for most of it. Also didnt care for flashback scene happened out of nowhere and confused when whatever was happening. I liked everything else bout story and way going, hopefully next book is better

The first book was so enjoyable I jumped into this book straightaway. However, book too felt like it dragged to be. The same cycle of upset, half discussing, sex, disaster repeat. It became monotonous and way less enjoyable unfortunately.
