4.5⭐️ 3🌶️

The tension in this book was amazing! Cal is so much more than what people to choose to see from him. His dad is a scum bag. Nellie is sassy and nerdy and I love it! This was a bully romance that I didn’t immediately hate the MMC, which I kind of liked. I’m not usually a big fan of the miscommunication trope, but I enjoyed this one!

This is the fourth book of the small-town drama series that takes place in Calamity Montana.

New to town retired NFL Star is just seeking a great place to retire when he finds out that his high school nemesis/crush is also in town? This will be a touchdown!!

Cal is absolutely adorable. I love his demeanor and fun personality.  Albeit misunderstood and perceived as being quite the grump & extremely rude. The publics perception of him could not be more wrong. I enjoyed seeing "behind the scenes" if you were. The level of charity and pure kindness was really heartwarming.

Nellie is a stubborn, strong-willed woman. She is quite mad that Cal is in Calamity, and who could really blame her? Cal was an absolute shit in high school & really made her life difficult.

The way that these two tried to run each other out of town was funny. It was immature as hell!! Don't get me wrong! But still funny.
The diaries that Cal stole from Nelly were fun because you were able to get those flashbacks. I thought it really helped to push the story forward.
Cal's consistent questioning of, "What do you hate about me?", was also really fun. Her reasons became less cruel as time went on.

Overall, this was a fun story to listen to.
