*exhales* okay so I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with this book, so let’s get into it🥴

I wanna preface by saying that when I see the word bully, even in a fictional book, I get triggered. I was bullied in school and I hate the “I was mean to you because I liked you” bs.

BIG HOWEVER. This was kind of like that but kind of not. Without spoiling anything, all I’ll say about that aspect of it was that it was more of a “I have to act like I hate you so people worst than me won’t mess with you.”🥲

And now we’re gonna move on cause this is getting to be too negative and I don’t do that here😂

Now onto the positives😅 I did love the banter in this book when it was the playful kind. The side characters made more than just a here and there appearance like other books so I loved that. They were integral parts of the story even though these characters books had already been done.

While I do love that Cal and Nellie’s relationship progressed throughout the book, I would’ve loved to see a little more growth. It kind of went from “enemies with benefits” to “it was always you” in the blink of an eye, like the buildup wasn’t there enough for me🥲

I love when a book has journal entries like this one and the fact that the entires were in Nellie’s POV but then we get more insight of what really happened during Cal’s POV made it soooo much better.

This book was relatively spicy when they were enemies, but when the enemies became lovers the spice was SPICING🤭

Overall, I did really enjoy this, but I did expect a little more from it since the first 3 books were so great. But I am still looking forward to reading the last two books of the series!

The banter is why I love enemies to lovers. It was great. LOVE Connor Crais, but I don't like Cindy Kay's voice - it's so breathy, it bothers my ears.

I am not a big enemies to lovers girlie but I do love when they are enemies because they have always been in love with each other. Cal + Nellie are enemies with benefits and I love how we are seeing so much into their backstory of their past. Cute read, definitely recommend esp if you like enemies to lovers!
