Held my 6yo's interest more than I thought it might. She kept asking to read more chapters, but, after we finished, she said it was just okay. A couple of the chapters are gems, particularly the one where the girls try so hard to help people but repeatedly misunderstand what's actually helpful.

This book is absolutely adorable. The concept is great and the children are super sweet. I remember when I used to read this as a child and it’s just as sweet as I remember it being although some parts are a bit dated.

This gentle story focuses on Lisa, one of six children who live in Noisy Village, a cluster of three farms in the Swedish countryside. We follow Lisa as she goes to school, plays with her friends, enjoys Christmas, and goes crayfishing. It's a charming story perfect for bed-time reading.
