A coming out story where two hockey players accept themselves and find love in one another.

Loved every word of this book. Bryce and Hunter are absolutely adorable. The storyline was great and the emotions you feel from the characters was there. I felt as if I was there and rooting for them and their love story as it unfolded. The entire book was wholesome and I cannot recommend it enough.

Will Tal Bauer ever write a book that I don’t love?? I would die for Hunter and Bryce. Die.

Their relationship develops over a hockey all star weekend (one amazing weekend) and quickly becomes one of the sweetest and passionate relationships you’ve ever read about. You’ll be swooning over every page. The way these two speak to each other… Dead. I was dead. Bryce is just so slick with it. I think it’s the french that does me in tbh (even tho there was a bit too much french in this book. I had to keep pausing to translate it on my kindle which is a feature I didn’t even know it had until now. That’s the only reason the book isn’t a full 5 for me).

Let me jump to another thing; This is a trope that I’m now realizing I like: When one of the characters has idolized the other growing up. Like in Kulti. Ugh, that’s so good. And it was in this book. Kill me now. It was honestly so sweet seeing how star struck Hunter was to meet Bryce. And to know that Bryce has some adoration for his game play as well?? I think I was dying with cuteness.

I loved the amount of hockey and camaraderie was in this book. Sports romances are always fun. I love reading about a beautiful romance and an amazing team that loves each other as a family. I was in tears seeing the way they all came together during the climax when Tal decided to give his readers a heart attack.

I hope this is enough to convince you to read this book because my mind isn’t working right now. Literally, there’s so much I want to say about this book but my mind is blocking me.

I absolutely loved this book. Bryce and Hunter’s story is truely beautiful and I wish I could read more of it.
My only struggle with it and why it doesn’t get 5/5 is because of how it would switch from English to French halfway through a sentence. I know it’s set in Montreal and they speak French but as a reader I found this challenging. I would’ve missed a lot had I not had google translate.
I’d love it if Bryce & Hunter’s trip to Texas gets published even as an extended epilogue or short story. I really want to see Bryce in Texas.

"This is the man I have been missing. Not my hero. Not the man from the posters on my teenage walls. The real Bryce, the man from midnights and empty drives and lonely rivers, and the man who looked me in the eye and dared to risk everything because, somehow, I made his heart beat faster."

The way this book had me in my feels! It follows the story of professional hockey players Bryce and Hunter as they navigate being a new couple and professional athletes. Its a story of found family, belonging and love. It tackles issues such as imposter syndrome and the pressures of being a professional athlete. The feeling of not being enough for the ones you love and the fear of letting them down.

This book had me crying, laughing, shocked, angry and more. It put me through the ringer but also glued me back together again. Not only do we have two amazing MC's but the side characters are truly the best. You feel the love and respect they all have for each other and you can't help but root for them.
