Absolutely adored this book, I'm a lover of Ice Hockey romance so this was always going to be a winner for me however this one was so well written, easy to read and such a lovely story between the two main characters and them falling in love.

Bryce Michel is at the top pf his game as the captain of the Montréal Étoiles. He's breaking records, packing arenas... but there is a an empty space in him where he keeps his dangerous thoughts - a part of him he's reluctant to embrace. Hockey is his life and he can't afford to let these thoughts make him lose his focus. All that goes to crap when he goes to the NHL's All-Star weekend and he finally meets Hunter Lacey. He's in a different team, lives in a different country, and, ah yeah, he's straight.
Hunter is nowhere near Bryce's league. Bryce has been his idol from the moment he started playing hockey and now he's right there, wanting to skate with him, be his friend. Everything changes when, after a wonderful weekend of camaraderie together, Bryce kisses Hunter and Hunter's whole world is kicked out of its axis.
OMG, what a swoony, sweet and heartwarming story! This gave me all the feels. This is basically a story of awakening, of finding out and accepting who you are are. The friends to lovers trope here was just perfect!
And the team, the families...oh my heart! Warm and fuzzy feelings! Loved it all!
There IS a lot of hockey talk but it just makes you feel like you are right there in the arena for the games.
There is no third act conflict (which I looooooove), but don't expect not to be put through the wringer!
Rep and possible triggers: gay/bi awakening, queer romance. There is a life-threatening hockey injury that happens during a game and its consequences
I can’t stop thinking about this book. I read it in one sitting and I would pay anything to reread it again for the first time. The connection between Bryce and Hunter warmed my heart from the very beginning. I just wanted to give Bryce a hug the entire time but I loved Hunter equally as much.
This is a beautiful love story and unlike anything I’ve ever read. I wouldn’t say it’s necessarily an instalove but they form a strong connection pretty quickly.
The story is fast paced. There’s angst that made my heart ache, sweet moments that made my heart smile and events that made me cry. I also enjoyed all the spicy moments, they were well written and placed perfectly.
The epilogue was everything and more. I would read ten more books about Bryce and Hunter just because I love them so much.

This was my first ever romance read and I really, really enjoyed it! I loved the array of characters the most, especially the hockey team guys (Valery was hands down my favourite!) and the found family bonds they had with each other. I also really loved how there was no homophobia or negative things about the m/m romance. It was all just good vibes the whole way through.
The only gripe I have with the book is the French scattered between the English. Not that there was the French language in the book, I actually loved that - but more, the characters would switch from English to French and back to English in the same sentence… I don’t think any bilingual person I’ve ever met does that, aside from when they’re struggling to find the English words for things and it was just a bit off putting.
Aside from that, I really enjoyed the plot and the romance was super cute, and even though I’m not a fan of the love at first sight trope, I actually really loved it in this.
