At first i wasn’t too sure about the book. I think the author doesn’t do well getting the characters into a relationship and moves things along at lightening speed. But once those characters are together boy oh boy i was slurpin it up! and so what if i shed a few tears love is a beautiful thing lmaooooo
(also i saw someone put a content warning for French-Canadians and i think that’s absolutely hilarious but also so valid 😂)

I hate instalove. It’s makes for a painfully boring, and unrealistic, story. The way Bryce talks, nobody speaks like that in Quebec, and for that reason, I was constantly being taken out of the story.

3.5 stars.
This book's redeeming quality, at least for me, is the likability of the two mains. They were extremely selfless and absolutely devoted to one another, and they had little quirks about them as individuals that I enjoyed.
I had two main issues with this book, though. The first is my general dislike for insta-love. It does not take long at all (their first two days together in Las Vegas) for Bryce to completely fall in love. Hunter doesn't take much longer. I just had a hard time believing that they knew each other well enough at that point, even if the chemistry was there from the beginning. It just seemed a little overdone for two people who had been mostly apathetic to romantic relationships their entire lives to just go from zero to "I want to be with you forever" in a matter of a few days. Anyway,
The second was the volume of inserted French. I get that Bryce is from Quebec and bilingual. But bilingual folks don't generally speak in another language when they are in a room of only English speakers and can speak English. I obviously thought it was a nice trait that Bryce was bilingual, and would have probably loved that even more about him if the execution was a bit more tastefully done.
Though, all-in-all, I did still enjoy this book. I wanted to root for them. There was a bit of challenge with Bryce's injury (even if I felt that it was somewhat overcome by fairytale standard; no way dude came back from an injury like that so fast). The ending was cute and did it's job in wrapping up the story.
This didn't hit quite like some of his other books (The Quarterback, You & Me, and The Rest of the Story are far superior, imo).
