Great for fans of golden girls looking for a light read. The humor kept pace with the show and jokes were non-stop which started to wear a little thin halfway through the book. This could have been better if some of the zany side characters had more of a presence in the first half of the book. I've read better and worse books, but published fanfiction like this is somewhat rare. The St. Olaf traditions were funny but began to get uncomfortable as the book wore on. Mystery element took a major backseat to the wedding and antics of the main characters.

Rose is planning an authentic St. Olaf wedding for her niece and traditions will need to be followed. Some of those things include a clown at the bachelorette party, actual showers taken at the bridal shower, a donkey walking down the aisle, and a ridiculous amount of herring.

Meanwhile, Dorothy needs a date for the wedding so she signs up for a video dating service. She hits it off with a man who agrees to be her date. Things happen. Later, they find this guy murdered and Dorothy becomes the main suspect by the police. So, the ladies decide they need to solve the murder to clear Dorothy and pave the way for a smooth wedding. Let the shenanigans begin...

I enjoyed reading this. I loved the fact that I didn't have to imagine what the characters looked or sounded like because I already know. The author did such a great job with their personalities like Dorothy's sarcastic wit and Sophia's comedic insults. There's also a plot twist that I didn't see coming.

If you enjoy cozy mysteries and love the Golden Girls, you must give this a read.
