More of the Giffen and DeMatteis schtick, although this is outside the Big 2. Milo Stone, a film studies graduate slacker who unaccountably has a super nice and longtime suffering girlfriend Stephie, has his life completely changed when a parallel world version of him (a superhero called Captain Valor) and his girlfriend (Captain Valor's ex-girlfriend and now archvillain) enter his life. As expected, it's heavy on the silly (and quite repetitive) dialogue, but it does try to address some of the more nuanced facets of the situation, especially the Manichean aspects of a superhero world and what it takes a relationship to survive and thrive. But, on this reread, I wasn't convinced I needed to keep this in my collection.
