All the stars for how this book lifted my spirits and filled my heart. A mood read gone very right.

If he ever permitted himself to love, he would love fiercely and without reserve. Only the most stubborn of women would be able to bear it. And Penny loved nothing so much as a challenge.

I have been anticipating Penny’s story with all of her amusing animals and sham sandwiches—it did not disappoint. I laughed, swooned, panted, and laughed some more. Truly, the best in the series.

Falling in lust at first sight was bad enough. This afternoon she’d tumbled into a whole river of desire, all the way up to her neck. Now Penny was drowning in a sea of sensuality.

The characters are wildly entertaining and the romance is undeniable. The pacing held my attention and the spicy scenes were well-placed. I highly recommend this series for a lighthearted, fun, and lusty afternoon.

Notable Moments
  • The Gabe, Ash, and Chase content>>> 😂🤣🥰😂😂😂
  • All of the adorable and hilarious animal content. Especially, human cat trees. OMG and the birthing scene. 🤭🤭🤭
  • The spicy scenes. 🫦

🎧 The audiobook was outstanding! I will absolutely be listening to this gem again very soon.

4.5 stars ✨ this was a great deal more serious and sad than I expected and yet, I loved it. this is the first dare book I've read in a long long while where I loved the love interest more than the lead too. penny was so sweet but hmm. there was just something about gabe. can't wait til I get the rest of the series from the library!

I was expecting a much deeper story, and I think it was my fault that I didn't get it. After reading numerous reviews proclaiming this as the best book in the saga, I had built up too many expectations.

It's not that it's bad, by any means; in fact, I found it to be incredibly funny. My favorite scene, of course, was when the three dukes helped deliver a baby goat—how could it not be? And now the protector wasn't just Ash but Chase joined in, and I loved them.

However, despite these enjoyable moments, it didn't surpass the first book in my ranking; actually, it’s at the bottom. I felt that the characters weren't as developed as Emma and Ash, each of whom had their own traumas to overcome. This book had the potential to be very emotional, but it focused more on the animals than on really addressing the difficult themes.

But it's still a good book. Hopefully, the author will give us the fourth someday.
