The banter wasn't as good as the first two books in the series, but it was still there. The reveal towards the end felt so rushed, as if there wasn't enough tension some extra storyline just got added for the angst. I liked the reveal, and what it showed about the main characters, just not necessarily the timing of it. I enjoyed the main characters, and especially seeing the men from the first 2 books do anything and everything for their wives and their friends. Looking forward to the release of the final book in the series!

So cute. I saw another reviewer say this was the slytherin/hufflepuff ship we deserve and YES. Penny adopts unadoptable pets. Gabriel is a self-made man who stands to make a fortune off this property near an earl's daughter... if only she'd get rid of her farm animals. A bit cheesy in places? Hell yeah, and I had a great time reading it! Def TW for parts of Penny's past
Spoiler(abuse, grooming, pedophilia)

Funny and over the top. Ridiculous frippery with heat. Loved it. The animals were great for laughs. Constant shenanigans. Penny, who can’t help accumulating rejected animals, basically houses a barn in her family’s home. In Mayfair.

We start with her parrot flying out the window into the new neighbor’s house. The house next door is under construction, which will not do for her mischievous but beloved parrot. Penny can’t help herself and within minutes is entering the house. Naturally, the bird leads her on a wild chase to a usually unoccupied room. Meet Cute complete. The plot is based off both Penny and Gabe needing to get rid of the animals. Penny is threaten to be taken to her toxic childhood home if she doesn’t get rid of the animals and return to society. Gabe, a man with a villainous reputation, is trying to sell a house to the newly rich who would pay extra to live next to a Lady spinster, but absolutely not a Lady spinster with a zoo. Thus the shared goal.
Their relationship progresses really well. It’s not a lust-match. Well it is, but it’s actually a love match too.
