I really enjoyed the short stories, the humor, and realness of it all. Highly recommend as a fun read.

This was a fun book to read. I liked the variety of historical eras and nations in the book. While there were a few fictional princesses in the book, I enjoyed reading about them.

I appreciate the book touching upon the princesses with mental illnesses. I could only imagine how difficult it would have been living with a mental illness while living under a microscope and under severe pressure. I enjoyed how the "behaving badly" wasn't always just misdeeds but sometimes modern princesses taking control of their family's fortune and historical princesses who kicked ass on the battlefield or just princesses who decided to fuck off and do whatever they want. There's no slut-shaming in the book regarding the promiscuous princesses. The book could have been more tightly edited and maybe chosen fewer princesses to have a better overview on every one.

I loved the way the author acknowledges the difficulty in sorting out fact from fiction about the lives of the princesses that are featured in the book. If you want serious history, please look elsewhere. However, given the context this is a fun history book that would be great to transition/introduce fiction readers into non-fiction. It was also fun to read about some of the contemporary princesses that are lesser known (they were to me at least).

I already purchased a copy of this book for my cousin for Christmas, and as I had already wrapped it up, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to devour it myself (thanks, NetGalley!). It's fun, it's gory, it's gruesome, and it's real. These stories range from the macabre to the hilarious and are told with an intelligent snark that will appeal to readers of all ages, especially girls who long for more stories like Brave and Moana.

Fun, historical, and inspiring.

i had a lot of fun reading about some of the princesses (or the equivalents of one), but i think there was just too much info in a relatively short book. i would've preferred more info about a select few princesses than a bunch of random tidbits about many.
