This book was unexpected so thank you to Quirk for sending a copy. I went into this novel having no idea whatsoever really about it. I wasn't even sure if it was fiction or not until I had a proper look at it. The book examines Princesses from history who didn't have their happily ever after or live life with a Prince Charming by her side. It was a bunch of women doing it for themselves, and I LOVED that about this book!
The book is still set into different chapters focussing on the main 'goals' of the Princesses in that chapter. To separate the man eaters from the power hungry for example. I enjoyed reading about the different types of Princesses there were and that not all of them were like Disney portrays them to be. I for one would quite like to see a few of these pop up in a Disney movie!
I really think you'll enjoy this book fi you like history. It is a fiction book, so for any one wanting to delve into a little history of some real Princesses would find this book totally enjoyable! I mainly went into this novel (once I knew it's real premise) was because I love alternatives. I love re-tellings in a more darkened way, so this was kind of the same thing. Looking at the flip side of the Princess lifestyle.
The only negative I'd have about this book would be it doesn't go into much detail about each Princess. Each Princess only had 2 or 3 pages each, so I really think that maybe they could have gone into more detail about the back story and why the princess was the way she was, or why she did what she did. Women are just cray sometimes, we have reasons!

This was really interesting. Not sure how much is true. But it was a good read.

informative
The writing style was very conversational which drove me up the wall. Otherwise, great info
Well written and very easy to read. Filled with so many interesting historical women I had not heard of before. It inspired me to find out more about many of these amazing women.
