Beim ersten Lesen war ich extrem begeistert von diesem Band. Und ich finde auch nach wie vor das Silberlinge definitiv ein richtig guter Band der Reihe ist.Aber ich bin jetzt weiser und älter *gg* als beim ersten Lesen und sehe auch die Schwächen der Harry Dresden Bücher in einem anderen Licht.
Tatsächlich finde ich z.B. das er gerne mal Handlungsstränge ins leere laufen lässt oder Frauenfiguren ziemlich sexistisch darstellt. Er bemüht sich zwar wirklich das nicht zu tun, aber an einigen Punkten hat er schon diese Vorstellung, das man Frauen retten muss, egal wie stark sie sind.
"Silberlinge" hat aber trotzdem auch einiges das ich mag. Vor allem deshalb, weil ich die Bände mit meinen Lieblingsfiguren natürlich am liebsten mag. Harry hat ja sowieso so ein großes Talent mehr als ein großes Problem auf einmal zu haben. Tatsächlich hat mir beim Re-read eigentlich gar nicht der Titelgebende Handlungsstrang so gut gefallen, sondern der Punkt der dazu führt, das Harry ein Duell an der Backe hat. Ehrlich gesagt hätte ich es sogar spannender gefunden, wenn sich die Geschichte nur auf dieses Duell konzentriert hätte. Genau hier tauchen nämlich eine Reihe von interessanten Figuren auf (das Archiv ist großartig und eine meiner Lieblinge nach wie vor).
Trotzdem ist die Idee, des Diebstahls des Grabtuches cool. ^^ Mir macht es einfach Spaß, wie Butcher immer wieder Elemente aus unserer Welt nimmt und sie für seine Geschichten umdeutet.
Sein Konzept von Magie und Religion finde ich spannend, weil er durch seine Interpretation keine Antwort gibt sondern eine Möglichkeit.
Ach ja und dann ist der wichtigste Punkt, weshalb ich denke ich mal, Silberlinge beim ersten Lesen sehr euphorisch bewertet habe. Susan... Ich mag ja diese Figur überhaupt nicht und bin mit den Entwicklungen in diesem Teil sehr sehr zufrieden^^

4 stars. All of the awesome and badass action scenes and funny humor aside, this was a great read just because of the closure Harry gets with Susan. I’ve said before that I was never that big on their relationship but it was really nice to see them here and I thought they had some really great moments that were definitely the highlight of this book for me. It was really well done and showed a lot of growth in Harry’s character.
Also, there was more Michael in this one! I know he’s a polarizing character but I personally really enjoy him and I like him and Harry’s friendship a lot. Also, his wife stays at Harry’s neck which I love.
Fun read and I’m still really loving this series so far.

4 stars - It was really good
Harry Dresden, professional wizard, should be happy that business has been pretty good for a change. His new case involves the missing Shroud of Turin, but that's not all he ends up having to deal with. He has to duel the Red Court of Vampires champion, deal with a professional hitman after him, a new case with the Chicago police, and the return of his ex-girlfriend Susan. Harry can’t get a break in this one.
This was another action packed and very eventful adventure for Harry. We are finally seeing the return of Susan and getting some sort of resolution with their relationship. While I liked Susan well enough, I am glad we finally have this resolution because it was holding Harry back from moving on with his life.
The Red Court continues to be a problem for Harry and the White Council. They attempt to end the war by challenging Harry to a duel but we quickly learn they had ulterior motives, obviously. I enjoyed the duel and meeting the Archive, who was very unexpected. I will be curious to see how future interactions with the vampires go after this.
The case for the Shroud of Torin was interesting and ended up involving Michael and other members of the Knights of the White Cross, who were very interesting characters. This was a case that ended up involving a very powerful foe of the Knights who caused even more damage in this one. Harry quickly realizes that he is up against things that he can’t handle alone, especially when weakened. We see him ending up relying on his friends again, which I think makes him a stronger character and the cases more interesting.
Overall, I really enjoyed this one and look forward to seeing what craziness Harry gets up to next.

So much happened in this one. The world building and the character development has really picked up.
Yes, his books have formed a pattern at this point. But, for fun reads, is that really a problem? Isn't part of the fun of some fantasies the sense of familiarity?
Harry Dresden is a grown man-child with supernatural powers. He's also slowly waking up to that fact. He used to kind of take pride in this particular weakness. Now, he's starting to see it for what it is, a true character flaw.
Two moments in this book plucked at my heartstrings more than I remember them doing so the first time I read it. That's one reason I'm glad I've started re-reading some of my favorite books. Much like Dresden, I'm not the man I was a decade ago.
