Andy es un niñato. Supongo que es la gracia del libro, pero realmente se hace pesado leer durante tanto tiempo un personaje tan insoportable. La mejor parte del libro es la única en la que se relata desde el punto de vista de Jen.

Really enjoyed this look into breakups and how our memories aren’t always the most accurate representation of how a relationship actually went. It was funny, it made me cringe with secondhand embarrassment, and it felt easy to connect with.

I loved the voice of this (not necessarily Andy’s voice, but you know what I mean) and it had that charming feeling that I think is hard to capture. I always enjoyed listening whenever I had it on. However, part of me can only take soooo much moping (I say from my high horse as someone who hasn’t experienced a breakup in over a decade and who would certainly mope). Also, by the end I felt like the book was a bit too on the nose, spoon feeding the thesis to us by the end and wrapping things up perhaps too neatly. The prose was entertaining enough that I’m certainly interested in her other material (pun intended).

I LOVED THIS BOOK. I thought it was a balanced deal of funny and sad. A character at rock bottom because of a breakup is a common theme but this was probably my favorite take on it that I’ve ever read.
