A bit underwhelming. I started out liking the writing style but it got old very fast. The simplicity does make the parts that are well written stand out more. I just wish everything about this was done at a higher caliber and less reserved. The themes explored are pretty standard for post apocalyptic stories, but The Road doesn’t take them any further than the basic presentation of them. My expectations were for something a bit more thought provoking.

Wow! This is a frightening apocalypse! The father and son are on the Road trying to get to somewhere that is safe and warm. There is little hope except for the son and his continued existence. This story is vague in its ending, but I think its open ending gives me a chance to hope for this civilization.

Did I just find my new favourite book? I might have..
I love the movie so much and the book is just as good!
The book is slowpaced and can be really boring at times, but that's how the lives of the man and the boy is. The relationship between those two is complicated but also so wholesome.
