This book was interesting. We got to learn a lot more about the characters and their interactions but overall I felt like the plot was a little underdeveloped and the ending was unsatisfactory. It doesn’t really answer anything. But it was a pretty good read, albeit more middle grade fiction
The Fall of Five is rather different from its predecessors, with less action and fighting scenes and more plot development and intrigue.
The Garde was finally reunited and we were able to see them working together, which seemed very promising. The book also focused a little more on the characters, their relationships and struggles, which was nice, although I’d like to see more development…
The series keeps getting better and I really enjoyed this book. Nevertheless, I’ll have to admit that the Lorien Legacies had a good premise, good ideas, promising characters, so many different aspects to explore… but it all seems so wasted in poor writing and weak character development. The more I read the more I like this series, but the feeling that this could have been way better also grows stronger, which is disappointing.
For example, I freaking love Nine, he’s a total loose cannon, kicks ass and speaks his mind… but he seems like a trope… Interesting, but too shallow, too predictable… I’d love to discover new sides of these characters, get to know them better… But unfortunately, I don’t like we’ll have that chance. I get that the series is plot driven rather than character driven but even so, the author could have put a lot more effort in it.
