Aw man! Do I really have to pick between Spider-mans? I love them all! But Peter's being a big jerk to Miles, so something fishy is going on (besides the fact Peter's not actually DEAD). Methinks clones are running amok in this series...
I was a little confused on Miles' back story because I didn't read the Secret Wars, and I've heard that his mother was dead and then came back to life... But despite that I still loved meeting his character for the first time.
Miles is half black, half Hispanic. Being dubbed The Black Spider-Man, all he really wants to be is Spider-Man. Peter Parker's Spider-Man is still floating around, so there's two now... But there's two Thors at the moment as well, so that's not a problem either.
If you like reading male superheroes but are tired of reading the same story over and over again, this will definitely revive your interest in the Marvel universe. The cameo from Ms Marvel certainly doesn't hurt, either.

I haven’t touched a book in too long and I’m being judged by Goodreads so I thought why not read my first comic! This was nicely done and I do truly adore Miles. This kinda made me wanna rewatch Spiderverse!

I did enjoy this, especially the characters, but other than that it was just okay... I really hope this series improves in the later volumes
I don't want to rate this as I'm honestly not sure graphic novels/comic books are for me. I liked the art work, but the story felt very meh. Also I think you really need to up to speed with the other Marvel characters, if my sister wasn't a fan of the Marvel movies and hadn't given me a break down of the movies before I saw Captain America: Civil War I would've been more lost than I was, I thought, that as a first volume of a new Spider-Man (and I did see the first 2 Tobey McGuire movies growing up and did enjoy them) it would be a good start for me.
I’m having difficulty deciding if this is 3 stars or 4 stars so I’ll stick with 3 stars for now. I did really enjoy reading this, I love miles morales so much. But there were some issues I had/things I didn’t understand. Also his grandmother SO FUCKING DRAMATIC. Like too dramatic. I don’t understand

I literally had no idea a different version (or different versions ?) of Spider-Man existed, so to have one that’s BLACK !!! IS A HUGE THING !!! Since I was little Spider-Man has been my favorite superhero, even during those times where I could not difference Marvel from DC (Which was only a year ago.... I know) he was my go to answer when someone asked me. If Miles Morales would’ve existed when I was a child I swear I would’ve appreciated the whole super hero universe a lot faster. (EDIT: HOLY SH*T I JUST FOUND OUT THEY’RE GOING TO MAKE AN ANIMATED MOVIE OUT OF THIS I’M CRYINGGGGGGG)
