3.75⭐️ a solid & interesting thriller! At time it felt a little too wordy and the ending was wrapped up a little too perfectly but it kept me interested for the most part!

Enjoyed this listen! Kept me interested!

Thank you to the publisher for allowing me to read this eARC.

There was a lot of elements going on that could've been messy but I think the author wrote in a way that kept it together and made sense. I loved the element of true friendsh but also a serial killer and private island. There were a lot of predictable moments but I still enjoyed the story, super fun and a fast read as well!
dark funny mysterious tense medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: Complicated
Loveable characters: Complicated
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

Highly enjoyed this quick thriller. The lengths of where a friendship can take you is limitless. Loved this!

Gripping and really held my attention for the first half - then plot got too weird and over the top.

Leo and Summer are closer than sisters and have overcome difficult pasts to make a life together. They are young and beautiful and use those assets to full advantage to survive. They've set their grifting sights on a billionaire, and when Leo is invited to his private island and then disappears, Summer will do anything to get her best friend back.

I love a good con artist/grifter story -- especially when the grifters are young women going after dumb rich dudes. It's so satisfying. I loved Leo and Summer's relationship and how fiercely they protected each other. The plot clipped along and never stalled out or got slow - this is a binge-read for sure. There were some too-coincidental coincidences, but just roll with it and let yourself enjoy this fast-paced, feminist story about two scrappy young women surviving at any cost.

* Thanks to Random House - Ballantine/Bantam for the NetGalley review copy. You Can Trust Me publishes June 13, 2023.

This was a modern day Thelma & Louise following two friends on an adventurous thriller. It had twists and turns that I was not expecting.

It was entertaining enough. But by the time I wrote this, I don't remember what happened.

Received an ARC via NetGalley.

A fun, fast-paced thriller that can be devoured in a couple days.

Some of the bombs that drop are pretty easy to see coming, I’m not sure they were supposed to be a surprise to the reader (bc pretty obvious) but they come as quite a surprise to the narrators. There’s a lot going on, in a good way, that I wasn’t disappointed by seeing it coming. The tension carries the story more than the surprises do.

The narrators were solid. They do shady things but they’re sympathetic and easy to root for.

I do wonder whatever happened to Alan though.
