The premise is great and the writing quality is solid, so I'm pretty sure this is just a me problem. I had a really hard time latching on to the story in the first half and was confused but I think that's more to do with stress. The second half caught me more, but was so strange. Lol.

These days it’s easy to feel like the vampire story is cliche. Associated mostly these days with seduction, castles and a Euro-centric mindset. NOT THIS STORY @stephengrahamjones pulls zero punches with this blood-soaked story of righteousness, revenge and the legacy of harmful missionaries/colonialism. With a deft hand, surprising humor and profound insight, “Buffalo Hunter Hunter,” is the best vampire story we’ve had in a long time, and unlike any other! #vampires #vampire

This is more a 3.5 but the acknowledgments just made me enjoy the author's process, I guess? 

As far as the book goes, the first 53% was super boring to me. Gore and vampire things... just way to saturated that it's the same type of stuff happening time and time again (hehe) and as far as the ending, it was insanely corny. (The audiobook helped with adding sound effects) but eh... 15 hours of an audiobook for a subpar ending.
