As she should. People who don't enjoy this are bigoted and/or have no imagination or sense of humour. Also for the record I don't think this work is satire

This book is incredibly funny and fun if you don’t take it too seriously! I can’t say I agree with a lot of her observations, but sometimes the way she tears apart men is SO relatable — and hilarious because it’s relatable. It’s a quick read, and even if you don’t agree with the premise, it’s a wild ride. This is a woman who deeply loves being a woman; she expresses it violently, but her confidence is a little infectious. I think everyone can benefit from some of her insights.

Most of the points I deducted, however, were for the introduction. I expected a serious philosophical analysis of the text, but it’s mostly bullshit and random musings. Some of her assertions are maddeningly illogical (she insists there’s deep significance in Valerie’s name), and some are factually incorrect (she makes a big deal out of the fact that she shot specifically two men, even though she tried to shoot a third). It is more of a lyric essay than an analysis, and a dense, meaningless one at that. It took me forever to get through. If you read this version, just skip it, or read her Wikipedia article instead.

My biggest takeaway is I should start saying “groovy” more.

jag tänker att man kan modernisera genom att helt enkelt klippa bort hatet mot kvinnor med transerfarenhet och sen läsa den lite som poesi: briljant

It’s so wildly extreme it’s almost funny! I heard about this from the Theoryish Podcast, so I just had to pick it up!

kill men

Of course some of it didn't age well, but It does wonder into giving you an outlook onto patriarchy : it's always been here and oppressive, and it's still here today.
If you want an extra insight, incredibly clever and brilliantly made, you can listen to the The Oldest Profession episode on Valerie Solanas.

“A few examples of the most obnoxious or harmful types [of men] are: rapists, politicians and all who are in their service (campaigners, members of political parties, etc.); lousy singers and musicians; Chairmen of Boards; Breadwinners; landlords; owners of greasy spoons and restaurants that play Muzak; “Great Artists”; cheap pikers and welchers; cops; tycoons; scientists working on death and destruction programs or for private industry (practically all scientists); liars and phonies; disc jockeys; men who intrude themselves in the slightest way on any strange female; real estate men; stock brokers; men who speak when they have nothing to say; men who sit idly on the street and mar the landscape with their presence; double dealers; flim-flam artists; litterbugs; plagiarizers; men who in the slightest way harm any female; all men in the advertising industry; psychiatrists and clinical psychologists; dishonest writers, journalists, editors, publishers, etc.; censors on both the public and private levels; all members of the armed forces, including draftees (LBJ and McNamara give orders, but servicemen carry them out) and particularly pilots (if the bomb drops, LBJ won’t drop it; a pilot will).”

Valerie Solanas, literary genius and personal visionary, decimates men and the system of masculinity. Needless to say, some of the things she says are a bridge too far. But, the root of her opinion feels extremely substantial. Solanas viciously criticized the notion toxic masculinity, claiming that all men minus a select few have this trait. She is a harsh critic of women, too, who buy into the system of male validation, which I less so agree with. Really interesting read from a fascinating person. She's a queen IMO (though I wish she wouldn't have attempted murder on Andy Worhol... and a lot of other things).

I read this out of curiosity, and while I don't align myself with misandry, the removal of men from our species, a variety of the terms used by Solanas, or her desire for a society led by female-only anarchic SCUM... I got more than a few chuckles out of this, and knowingly nodded my head in agreement more than a time or two.

Ideal reading for a bad day, methinks.
