"The first beat my heart took in over a year was when you turned around and ensnared me in your arctic eyes. Instead of pushing you away, I wanted you closer. Instead of shutting you out, I brought you to my childhood home. Instead of staying away, I found the smallest of excuses to be around you.”

ARC Review: 4.5/5 ⭐️

As soon as Kayla James shared the book details for this book I was hooked! As a female who was born and raised in the racing world it was truly something to have the FMC ruling a male dominated sport! It was so unique to most of the other racing romances. The details of F1 sports? So accurate which makes it even better, you can truly tell Kayla put in the work for this masterpiece! Both Blake and Ryder were so easy to follow and truly likable! Their chemistry was top tier and the spice? “Chefs kiss.” Watching their relationship form and develop was truly amazing! It never felt forced or “too much.” I can’t believe this is Kayla’s debut novel and I truly can’t wait to see where she goes from here! Stop what you are doing March 2nd and pick this baby up!

A little too full of cliches but had promise. Needed a bit more development to really believe their love - not just their physical chemistry. Looking forward to how the author improves through the rest of the series!

Omg Omg omg
A MMC based of my husband and formula one driver Charles Leclerc (i died)
A women in motersports who is absolutely amazing and had a crush on her childhood icon and now teammate, I can’t deny how much I loved this
Ryder has a lot of issues and he is used to dealing with it himself but Blake is not gonna stand for that nope gurls out here playing with his hair , such a good “teammate”
The chemistry these two have is making me go crazy and the constant “but we shouldn’t” has me by the neck.
The protectiveness he has over her but still respects her to stand up for herselfffff
Also the fact that they tried hiding there relationship but everyone already knew about it and Nikolai knew from day one
I love Blake, causes she’s not a weak female main character. She stands her ground and doesn’t take anyone’s nonsense. She’s smart and extremely lovable and relatable, cause if I was racing w other a Charles Leclerc look a like I too would not be able to resist.
All the side characters, except you Jean, are amazing and adorable.
Overall I loved this book and it’s definitely going in my fav f1 romance books ❤️

It has been so long since I read a formula 1 sports romance and I was so excited when I received this ARC. It is an adorable read. Kayla James did a good job writing this beautiful debut novel of hers and I had so much fun reading it.

Blake is an incredibly talented emerging female racer in a male dominated sport, and Ryder is a former F1 champion, making comeback post injury. These two share a very sweet relationship, supporting and caring for each other throughout the book. I appreciated that there were no misunderstandings or drama between them, that they acknowledged their feelings and communicated openly. Their chemistry was amazing as well.

I enjoyed them as a team during the races as well. I loved how they were super competitive during the race but also genuinely happy (with no hint of jealousy) for each other's victories. Their pre-race rituals added an endearing touch to their dynamic. I liked the genuine supportive behaviour of all the side characters as well.

However, a few things could have been improved. First, the book felt somewhat rushed, with Blake and Ryder's relationship developing quickly and giving off an insta-love vibe. I would have loved to see the tension build up more before they got together. Additionally, a few important scenes lacked the detail they deserved.  Also the 'sports' part in this sports romance overshadowed the 'romance' and while I appreciate a good amount of accurate sports references, I wished for a more balanced focus between sports and romance.

Overall it was a nice read with a good plot and very lovable characters and I will definitely be reading more from this author.

I don’t know much when it comes to F1 I love that the author added a page full of terms so it definitely made it easier to understand. Definitely falling into F1 more and more after this book!

Lovedddd this book so much! I love every single minor characters that added to story ugh! Also books like this?? Makes me LOVE the MMC POV so much the way he talks about her!

I love how healthy their relationship is!🥹 I’m so happy for this couple 🫶 both understanding what each other needs and just being there 🥹

Loved this book! I was so invested in both Ryder and Blake’s stories, how Blake shook up the racing boys club and Ryder’s redemption arc! They’re also so sweet and their budding romance bloomed wonderfully. Couldn’t recommend enough❤️

Thank you Kayla James and LoveNotePR for the ARC!

This was my first book by Kayla James and I will definitely be back for more! I just got into F1 romances and this one has definitely confirmed that I need to read more of them

i really enjoyed the f1 in this book, especially a woman in f1. there were parts in this book that was really fun to read. The romance tho i feel was rushed, it just felt like they got from point a to point b in 5 seconds and it was very insta lovey. i was hoping for more of a slow burn. i didn’t connect with the characters at all.

i think a lot of people works like this book it just wasn’t for me
