Firstly, I want to thank Kayla James for the ARC of "Lights Out." Thank you so much for the opportunity to read it before its release!

Now, let me dive into why I absolutely loved the book. The prologue had me hooked from the start – it set the perfect tone for the entire story. I'm a sucker for the F1 romance trope, and you nailed it! The adrenaline, the passion, and the unexpected turns kept me glued to the pages.

Blake and Ryder's story has easily become my top favorite sports romance. Blake is such a brave and lovable female lead – I couldn't help but root for her throughout the book. And Ryder instantly stole my heart as my new book boyfriend. The chemistry between them is electric, and their journey had me swooning and cheering for them.

Kayla's writing style is fantastic. The pacing was spot on – never a dull moment. What I particularly appreciated was how she added terminologies and their meanings at the beginning  making it easy for readers to immerse themselves in the world of Formula 1 without feeling lost.

Side note: I read this as an arc but this is my completely honest review

The plot was so interesting and I got through this book fast, there were parts of the book (like pop culture references and cliches) that I didn’t enjoy as much, but honestly those are completely over shadowed by the plot and very lovable characters. Plus I understand some people love those things and it’s very subjective

Overall the writing was so good and I would recommend to any romance enjoyer

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 (F1 Romance)

Synopsis: Ryder King is F1 royalty, his dad was a World Champion prior to passing away. But a year and a half ago, Ryder got into an accident and then fight with his teammate that took him out of the sport for a time. Blake Stone is a super talented female driver in a lower circuit, when a new team is on the grid, they sign Ryder and Blake. As the season goes on, and Blake and Ryder get to know each other, their feelings start to grow as much as their skill on the track.

My Thoughts: I really liked this book! I thought it was very sweet! I really liked that there was a female driver, because more females need to be involved in Motorsport. And I loved that the two drivers fell for each other. So cute!! It was 🌶️🌶️🌶️ at times, but there wasn’t a ton of detail. I also really enjoyed all of the character development in this one too. Ryder had a lot going on prior to the book, but I think his journey back to racing and then his journey with Blake was fantastic.

Thank you to the author and Love Notes PR for an advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest review.

If you love F1 Romances or friends to lovers, you’ll love this.

I loved this book. I devoured it. It is a lovely romace. The relationship developed so beautifully and no third act breakup was amazing. As an avid F1 fan I would loved to see some more in the paddock scenes. Loved everything else.
Thank you fir the ARC.

Look out world, Kayla James is coming in hot with her debut and you do not want to miss this one! Even if you know nothing about Formula 1 (hi, me, I knew nothing)!

Even after reading this twice back to back to proofread, I could have read it again. I’d like one billion more pages of Blake & Ryder in front of my eyeballs immediately because they are just perfection!

Every single thing about this book is just so damn good!
The mix of tropes.
The tension.
The caretaking.
The iconic mix of social media posts, news articles, and podcast episodes all on page.
The side characters.
The mental health rep.
