This book was not what I was expecting. Unfortunately I was expecting something better. I didnt really like any of the characters and I felt like the lack if real world building led to me not understanding the desire to stay at the compound. I mean having anything you wanted with no work is nice but what does it really mean without someone to share it with. I also felt like her and Sam were an odd pairing. Like it didnt make sense to me that Sam left his partner (I forget her name) for Lilly. Also how the hell was Tom allowed to stay after the holding someone down event then punching Lilly?

Overall I was just happy to finish the book.

I understand why this book is so polarizing, but as a Love Island fan, I was HOOKED. Don't go into this book thinking you're getting a fun, lighthearted beach read. This was a slower-paced character study that just happens to be set in a reality tv show. It gave big White Lotus vibes, with a sinister undertone throughout the book.

I ate this up, and Lucy Boynton being the narrator really sealed the deal for me.
