DNF. I think I have outgrown Kasie West.
My least favorite Kasie West book so far, but still enjoyable.
Adorable. Just adorable. This was one of those rare books where I was just reading and got lost in the story that I almost never looked at pages numbers. Even though it was conclusive, when it ended I was so surprised because I swear just moments ago I was halfway through the story. It wasn’t anything particularly fascinating, on her 18th birthday, Maddie wins the lottery. She has to learn who to trust, rediscover who she wants to be, and adapt to having all the money she could ever want. She works at the zoo and loves animals which is so cute and her coworker, Seth, is swoon-worthy.
Quick and predictable YA read, though I had a knot in my stomach just waiting for everything to hit the fan. For that reason, I’m not sure I enjoyed it. I don’t like the feeling of, “Oh great. What stupid thing will she do next...” I have enjoyed reading other stories written by Kacie West though.
I was in the mood for a cute, fluffy romance, and this delivered all the cute fluff I was looking for.

Although I really like stories about winning the lottery (I prefer money lotteries over, say, hunger games lotteries), this one fell pretty flat for me. I spent half the story worried about credit card interest and the other half being annoyed at all the secondary characters in this book (all of which I promptly forgot as soon as I closed the book). I'll avoid any "West didn't hit the lottery with this one" jokes but...

Girl makes irresponsible financial decisions. But girl is a teenager and I guess it makes sense to be like that if you're a teen. Still a enjoyable read though!!!
4.5 stars
This was a cute fluffy romance story, and it was just adorable. I really liked Seth. And I mostly liked Maddie; there was just a bit there in the middle where her thoughts and choices frustrated me. Still, this was a nice light read, and I think I would probably try more Kasie West books in the future.
