Really relatable as a fellow previous teen but really unlikable. Perfect to devour on a long plane ride.

This was a fairly quick read despite it being such a thick book. The story is told by a twenty-something looking back on her high school years at a boarding school. She is at times painfully reflective, but honest. She talks a lot about stuff you've probably observed in social situations and thought about, but didn't focus on quite as much. A must read for anyone who has ever felt like an outsider.

If you’re looking for a character study on socially anxious teens, on the impact of money and class in boarding schools, this one may be for you. You’ll likely want to reach through the pages and shake the protagonist, because Sittenfeld pulls you right into the world of Lee Fiora’s Ault School.
