I loved this series!
I read it as a mix between audio and e-book.
Hades is a lot more of a baddass then Madison Kate. This series is a bit darker, grittier and more intense.
Dare I say it.. but there was probably too much smut for me. This series could've been condensed to 3 books and still been just a great.

Kickass heroine but somehow I don’t care about her at all.
This was such a thrilling, captivating book! I was hooked from the very beginning!

Can we all agree that we love a badass FMC??? And she is the one who get called Hades??? This is a mafia/gang style book with some violence, and beautiful world building to set the scene of where the series will go. And that cliff hanger??? I need the next one asap!

Hades and Co are such a badass, dark dynamic and I’m here for it. I’ve waited to start the series once Tate completed it and it does not disappoint. I am hopeful, though, that the fires that were beginning to ignite at the end of this one continue to a full-on blaze by the end of the 4th.
Thoughts? Yeah I have some of those.

I told myself I wouldn’t compare this to MK but it’s impossible not to. This started off so slow I was beginning to get scared this would fail to live up to the expectations that it was better than MK. & while I don’t have all the pieces to the puzzle right now, I will say that I do like the way this book has been written so far, the relationship dynamics is completely different than the MK series.
All of the men in here though I was comparing to Madison Kates men and the positions they hold. Lucas is the golden retriever of the pack, he’s the one that alleviates all her worries, brings her joy, and is just all-around lovable. Zed on the other hand is shaping up to be like Kody he is more neutral, he’s always on her side, he also has more rapport with her because he’s known her longer than anyone else, and they’re both ignoring their feelings that they have for each other bc of something that happened in the past. Cass he is definitely the Archer of the group I feel as though he is going to be the last one to come around and the one who is less likely to play nice with everyone else. Although in this particular situation it’s understandable because they’re supposed to be rivals.
This book was very slow to start but I appreciate the foundation that was laid in Hades background, all the men, all the businesses, all the Gang’s, and everything that we need to know that’s currently happening in the town since we last saw it in the MK series.
This book was very steamy from the beginning, there is sexual tension between her and all the men and I am here for it. I do wish she had more scenes with the other men and not just one of them in this book I won’t say who. That would be my only concern but we do have three more books so we’ll see where it goes. Also the cliffhanger wasn’t as terrible as I was expecting it just made me roll my eyes if anything.

4.5⭐️ I have fallen in love with Tate James as an author and I am so excited to read through the Madison Kate series as a whole Shadow Grove universe.
Love love love everything about this book! Well written, great storyline, and fantastic characters. The relationships built between Hades, Lucas, Cass, and Zed were great, and it was fantastic to see each different relationship having a different dynamic, which showed different sides to Hades. It is great to see such a strong, well written female main character. I absolutely recommend reading, and I can't wait to read more of Tate's books!
