Lol I was so harsh last year, I guess I was not in the mood for this, but second time is the real charm. This was pretty addictive, still wasn't obsessed I enjoyed the first Madison Kate book more. Maybe because the stakes isn't as high cause Hades is a badass boss and has too many men at her back. Still can't believed I DNF this first round.

I like it, need to get used to it maybe. Cause it’s a little more slow and starting than I normally have with RH books. But I like it
Tate James does it again! this book was epic. I love Hades and her crew. Once again the queen of cliffhangers left me breathless and I cant wait to dive into the next book. The narration was fantastic and made this story come to life.
The FMC was sleeping with a high school boy. He was 18, and the first time she thought he was 21, but still slept with him again after she knew.

Great series to read after Tate James' "Madison Kate" series as the events take place about a year or so later. No time is wasted before the smut and story take off! I was hooked right away and finished in less than 24 hours.
I understand the Tiktok hype. Unlike most of the reviewers here, I haven't read the Madison Kate series, this was my first intro to Tate's writing. The storyline moved quickly, characters were well-developed, and I found this to be a really really enjoyable read. Excited to start the next book immediately.
Agreed with everyone who said Hades is a really awesome heroine. I mean yeah you have to suspend disbelief, as you do with all mafia/gang/etc scenarios in which a 23 year old somehow manages to be the top dog in an entire city full of hardened criminals, but other than that she's fantastic. Is able to be vulnerable in certain scenarios, etc.
I had to laugh at one review that said this book is "half smut" because...it's not. At least not for those among us who are regularly reading books that are actually half smut. There's a lot of tension (some make out sessions with one, and some puppydog love and arm brushes from the other) between two men who will eventually become hers, and a couple sex scenes with another. It's definitely a slower medium burn; enough to keep you interested, but it's an RH and we don't even have all the men bought in yet, so how smutty can it actually be?? :D
