Till-death-do-us-part should have been enough…
Mac Corcoran spent a long time running from the specter of his parents’ abusive marriage. He’s worked hard to suppress his dark urges and channeled his energy into building his own relationship upon a bedrock of respect and equality.
It takes two people to make a marriage work, however, and when Amy Corcoran’s submissive needs hit a breaking point, her only options are to walk away from the man she loves or force him to acknowledge her as the woman she is now. Even if that woman isn’t the same one he married ten years earlier.
With no more time for running, can Mac overcome his fear and be the Dominant man Amy needs him to be or will fear of repeating the past cost him the only woman he’s ever loved?
Mac is one sexy, sweet man. He doesn’t want to be like his father, a domineering abusive man. But then he starts having thoughts about dominating his wife and having her do things when he tells her to. He has always been a man that stands for equality and respect, so just thinking these things is wrong to him. Watching him come to grips with what he wants was fantastic.
Amy just wants to be dominated, her thoughts are all about Mac being in control and in charge of her. She wants and needs him to do these things but she can’t find a way to tell him without repulsing him. When you see Amy going through all her trials and growing into a more confident person was great I just wish it had gone a little slower.
This story was fantastic in the fact of teaching us to face our fears, learning about the people you think you know, hot sex, trust, and love. Emily did a great job weaving all these emotions together. But as I said I just wish it had gone a little slower and that the book had been a little longer. 4/5
